DIY HardStop

this is for the DIY section but is only really for adapters.... so I don't know where to put it but,
I made a cheap hardstop that allows me to zoom on the GG but hard stops at the full frame.
just a zap strap with a hole for the zoom "knob" and a rubber foot at the full frame mark

Nice idea! Won't ruin the cam either.

Can you make one for the focus ring instead? You can stop the HVX zoom by turning on servo and taking off the little piece. The Focus is the hard one.

I tape the focus down, but still want the zoom to work. Just not past the full frame. This way I can zoom in on the ground glass as I need but pull back fast to the full frame, but not past it to see the guts of the LEX. now to find a black zap strap and rubber foot

Taping the focus will hopfully be a thing of the past... I emailed Gerhard at geardear a while ago and suggested a new product, which is a rod mounted focus locking device. I sent him my design and he tweaked it to better suit his manufacturing processes and stuff and last I heard, he was planning to take some photos a few days ago....

Heres a diagram:

back and front - two pictures of the final product...

the toothed Y-part is pushed against the rubber collar of the internal cameralens and blocks it from rotating...

....no? what makes you say that? the Y shape is pushed up and the teeth engage with the rubber ridges moulded onto the cameras focus ring and s top it turning....

but does it strip wire?

actually it's pretty cool if it fits the grooves right where you want it. 1.48 on my LEX but maybe different on another?
