DIY Dolly Wheel Noise - Remedies?

My DIY dolly used to whisper quiet, but lately the skateboard wheels have been getting a bit noisier.

What should I do/use to try and quiet them down?

you can clean the bearings , oil them up and put them back together or just replace them. abec 5 bearings are pretty cheap now. A quick fix would be to just spray some wd40 on them. That might work aswell depending on how dirty the bearings are.

I wouldn't recommend WD40, it will only collect more than it shields. Go to a hobby store and ask for bearing oil. I can't remember the one I use, but it works great. I use it on my dolly, gimbal, and some of my machines.

If the noise isn't the bearings, but the actual wheels squeaking as they roll across the track… Spray the track with Pledge® furniture polish. Nice and lemony, plus it stops the squeaks.

(there is a can of pledge on every package truck that I've ever worked with - Nothing like watching a big time 'A' list key grip wiping down dolly track with Pledge®)

NIX on the wd-40.

It will dissolve the grease in the bearings.

Bearings ( at least good ones for mountain bike wheels ) are packed with grease and it's not just any old grease.
Your easiest fix is just buy new bearings. The skate board ones don't seem to be re packable.

I really wouldn't use WD-40 or similar on bearings. You'll fix it for about a month and then it will get twice as worse.

That's of course it does use bearings and not a cheap nylon bush.

The bearings might be badly worn or foreign matter has gotten into them.
Best thing to do is stip it down as far as you can, clean them up and then lub up with lithium grease.
