I kept getting requests for this item (despite all the versions on the web), so here's my go at it. It works pretty well, doesn't cost much and is made to work with my DIY Mic Shockmount from a few episodes back.

Are you sure there's enough play in that? I'd go for a wider barrel to avoid any possibility of the mic ticking against the mount. I made one out of clothes hanger wire for a shoot where we had to be on the spot with it and while we didn't use it then, I've used it myself for other stuff. Not pretty but it works.
