DIY Bike Snorri, Dual Action w/ test footage

No Handle

This is a rough design, more proof of concept than anything. A sturdier design than this can be built for less than 20 bucks if you're handy with tools. This was made very quickly in an attempt to solve a problem and get a specific shot, so it ain't pretty.

Here's a quick and dirty test of it in action, with a few shots of the movements that make it possible to adjust camera angle easily for height and distance.

There are additional ways to do this (say, if you had cotter pins and holes to go the length of the pvc that is attached to the handlebars, or holes drilled through the neck of the extension pole). Then it could be a triple or quadruple action bike snorri... whoa. Also, it'd be very easy to take the base design, use two extension poles, two paint rollers, etc. It'd be much more sturdy with that support, and camera angle could be fine tuned in ways not possible with a single shaft.

I should also add that pointing the camera rearward on the biker is one way to use it. You could just as easily point it forward, get a high angle on a fast moving scene as you chase, provided the ground smooth and the operator capable.

Here's a picture of the mount on a different bike, before it was finished. You can see there is no linkage yet for the camera platform.

Cool, but, it looks like there is no real attachment to the handlebars, that it just kind of snaps on. If that snaps off, you would lose your camera.
