DIY $20 backdrop holder

Author - neat stuff.

What exactly do you use for the green screen material? Specially bout material, or something from jo-Ann fabrics?

Thanks! John

It's very easy - I made one to hold a rather large diffuser that I needed for an exterior shoot - Had 2 grips follow an actor with it - Also mounted it static with 2 C stands - knuckle arms gripped it in the center of the sides of the frame. Worked great!

Thanks for posting that, Ralph!

Nice example. Good timing too. I have just started looking into making one.

Thanks!

Side note: Power Turbo Prolog?!?! I read that book. I used to do a bit of Prolog programming a long time ago. Wrote an extension to Prolog back in college that I named Chronolog. It's a temporal version of Prolog. Argh, that reminds me, my prof stole that project and never gave me credit for coming up with it. Heh, but I still have the original research papers and with his signature. Oh well.

John, the green screen have is 10 x16' ... I bought it off eBAY for about $90... not sure where it came from but nice cloth. I got my wife to sew velcro fasteners along the top edge, so it's quite simple to put up and take down.

Glad you're getting such good use from it! Enjoy. ;-)

THE POWER OF TURBO PROLOG was a fun book to do... I think it was my 5th or 6th book. And it got me a great job writing another book about using artificially intelligent machine controls in the auto industry. ... Back in those days (mid and late eighties) I wrote books about most Borland products as they came out --- Reflex, Sprint, Turbo Prolog, Turbo Basic ... them was the days. ;-)

I'll have to look into Prolog again... see where it's gotten to in the last 20 years.

But, back to video production, now in progress.

For $60+ on some websites, they are selling collapasble 5x7' green screens. I think they are made by Photoflex.

Turbo Prolog! Man, that brings back memories. I had at least one of your books to guide me through my years as a Borland junkie.
