How does a DSLR perform on it?

almost done with mine, dslr performs nicely, smooth movement, but i couldnt get hard wood in my size (6cm thickness) - which just was the only way to build it, so i went with a piece of wood i had lying around, but its not very hard.. cant do really slow slides without it going minimally "rugged". still nice to have this, ill have to figure the wood out^^ what did you use to connect the two pieces of wood??

i just used 2 bits of aluminum i had lying around, 1/2" channel. works great but you can really use anything you like, just make sure you space them accuratly
