distribution for a short film?

I'm going to be finished in a few weeks with a short film that's about 12 minutes long, is there any way I can make money off of it?

Is there anybody that maybe puts together a compilation DVD for retail sale with several shorts on it?

I'm thinking of maybe putting together something like that with shorts from me and several other filmmakers, where would I have to look to find distibution for something like that?

First send it to festivals. Once you've played festivals if it's any good distributors will be coming to you. At least that's what happened with our last short.

there are lots of streaming video sites popping up that will do a revenue share with you if you license them your short, or you can sell streams yourself at video.google.com.

I plan on sending it to festivals as soon as I'm finished with post here in a few weeks. we'll see what happens.

so, how did it work for you? do you mind going into more detail?

I'm gonna contact those guys and see if it's ok shooting 24p Advanced... It says they accept 30p and 60i, but I hope they take 24p Advanced... You also gotta see if you keep rights to the movie incase you wanna turn it into a feature in the future...

When I get a chance to call them I will, if anybody knows any info on those guys, please post it...
