I work for a non-profit called the World Affaiirs Council ( www.itsyourworld.org ) and my job pretty much is shooting their programs (a speaker comes in, talks for half an hour, then answers questions for half an hour), capturing, editing and distribution.
My boss is leaving, which means some new responsibilities fall onto my shoulders, such as scheduling my shoots, arranging them with our other shooters, but most importantly, finding new avenues for distribution to get the videos out to a wider audience.
Can someone give me some tips on how to market video or how to look for distributors? I'm absolutely in the dark on this - if I have a camera and people in front of me, I can light it, film it, edit it, score it and put it to DVD and online media to get it out, but I have absolutely no idea on how to find people to send it to and how to build distributor relationships.
Can we talk about that? :violin:
