Hey, i'm building my second adapter and i'm wondering whats the best distance from the achromat to ground glass and ground glass to the lense? i can measure 4 cm from the ground glass to the lense on my current adapter, and 6 cm from the achromat to the ground glass. Does anybody know the distance on brevis, sgpro, letus or m2?

i use the Cinevate achromat and the canon xh a1. i found a site that shows the registration distance and i think thats the distance from the ground glass to the lense.

You got 3 variables:

1. Lens to GG
2. GG to Achromat
3. Achromat to camera lens

make yourself a fixture where you can move everything back and forth to get the right distances for your glass.

i dont know the focal lenght, but i made the adapter today and the distance that worked best was achromat to gg 6cm, gg to lense 4.5cm.

Finding out focal length is easy (ish).

Just hold the lens up to focus a bright light source into a flat surface and measure the distance the lens is from the surface when the image is sharp.

What brand lens are you using (Canon, Nikon, etc.. ) ?

Don't forget when making an adapter you need to make sure your FOV stays within range.
