Dissolve Transition Flash

I am currently working on my grandparents 50th Anniv. video montage. I created 10 sec clips of each picture using After Effects. I then imported these clips into Premiere pro 1.5. After placing the clips on the timeline I used the additive dissolve transition to fade from one clip to the next. When played back, the transition flashes with a bright white glow and the returns back to normal. Can anyone tell me what the problem is, Thank You.

That's what additive dissolve does. If you want a normal dissolve, use "Cross dissolve" instead.

Thanks, after reading your response I checked my transitions. I started with a cross dissolve and for some strange reason I started using the additive.
