Disc ripping

Anyone know any program that is good for CD ripping? quick and easy ones... with a "singnal gain" preferrably; because some CDs' singnal are weak, want to be able to boost the singnal when rendering out as MP3 etc... mainly looking for boost the singnal out.
Or does soundforge do this?

CDex (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/) is the fastest, most reliable ripper I have ever used. In fact I once owned a CD drive that had so many jitter errors that most rippers would quit halfway through the first song and say it wasn't possible to continue. Then I loaded up CDex and not only did it rip the entire CD using that drive it did it faster than any other program/CD drive I have used since.

Just my $0.01 9/10

Peace,
Larry

if your making an mp3 regardless of your encoder you will probably be use the LAME codec...probably the best quality to compression ratio out there....

it does have a normalize option....

if it doesnt meet ure needs then you can rip to a wave import to soundforge modify what you want then exprot as a wav or mp3...

If you are just looking to have an additional record of your music or use it in a media player I use Window Media Player, rips faster than most other things I have used...

If you want the wav files then I like audio grabber.

How bout a signal gain(boost) option? beside being fast, I am mainly looking for signal boost, want to improve the loudness for weak CDs.

Hey fsda,
at this point I'd suggest you simply download some of these choices that were kindly provided for you, and see which one you like best.
Most of what was recommended here is free of charge, so you will lose no $ in trying.

Cheers

Just to rip, use iTunes. It's the best out of eveything. When burning a CD from a created playlist, you can have it normalize for you. If that doesn't work for you, then get something like Audacity to boost the signal.
