Disable sound on capture?

Hi guys/girls!

Right now I'm in the middle of capturing a concert i filmed with my dvx100e. The problem is though, it's all organ music, which I hate. Now the sound/music that I get when capturing really is annoying. Is there any way to disable the sound in Vegas while capturing?

A really quick reply would help :evil:
 
Turn your speakers off. :thumbsup:

Seriously, you can choose not to capture audio, but you don't want that.
 
In Sony Video Capture choose options, then preferences, then choose the capture tab. From there, just uncheck the capture audio box to disable it.
 
Ah, I see David had the much simpler approach. :) His works great, but if you want to make sure you NEVER have the audio attached to the clip, follow those instructions.
 
Well, but if I disable that, there won't be any sound on the captured video at all? I just need to disable it WHILE capturing, so that I can listen to The Thin Red Line soundtrack or something without an annoying sound of an organ humbling in the background.

edit: No, I can't just turn off my speakers... :undecided
 
I see. I thought you hated the sound & wanted it gone altogether. I'm not aware of being able to just turn off the preview sound. Looks like your only option then would be to turn down/off your speakers/volume, then play THE THIN RED LINE soundtrack from a different source.

Or, leave the room & watch TV, work in the garden, help some kids with homework, etc. for the allotted amount of capture time.
 
You should be able to turn your volume all the way down without affecting capture. Do this with the volume controls in your quick launch tray.
 
I think he might have meant he wants to listen to something else on the computer while capturing...not necessarily a good idea, possibly even courting dropouts...

Is there a no-preview capture option? I never looked.
 
Yeah, but he was hoping to listen to some tunes at the same time ... I'm assuming through his system, the reason he coudn't turn off the speakers.

GenJerDan ... just looked, and don't see that as an option (no preview).

Yup! We also started the first religious war in Central Europe, if that helps to improve our image... :evil:

...and you guys are surprised I get so opinionated. :beer:
 
Doh! Since I wasn't actually capturing anything (no device attached, etc.), that option was gray'd out along with several others ... didn't even see it.
