dirty lens

hey there!
I shot a new film...everything seems cool except that apparently my DP was too lazy to clean the lens so unfortunatly I had a couple of shots (important onmes) that were shot with a dusty lens. I'm really irritated off by that and we ca'nt go back and shoot them again is there anyway to fix that? :(

It depends on how bad the dust is, is it just a spec in the sky? Or a massive hair in the way of the actors?

If it's a small spec, you can probably get it out, it sounds like a job for AF but if you don't have AF you could play around with the color correction I don't know how helpful that would be but it's what I'd do. If it's really large there's not that much you can do, other then not paying you're DP.

Like travis said, it may be pretty hard to do if it is a big spot. Sometimes if i have older footage with isnt perfectly crisp i will duplicate the clip, but one of the duplicated on top of the other, put a gaussian blur to about 6-12 on the bottom clip and change the transfer mode to "overlay." This will may your footage look softer so it may not work out for you, but it may cover up some of the dirty sports... i dont know if this will work, but i figured it wont hurt to try
