Directors viewfinder settings, how to use?

Hello all, I read about this ages ago, and last october I got a directors viewfinder as a gift, I have yet to use it with my SgPro, but I was wondering what setting I would be looking at to use it with my upcoming productions, would I use the ANAM,35,s-16,16,2/3,1/2, or 1/3dv? Now my guess is that I will be using 35mm, but please, if some one knows, do share.

It all depends on how far you zoom in on the ground glass of the SGpro. Find the post by Barry_Green where he explains how to get the correct zoom setting for the HVX in order to use a portion of the gg that matches with the size of a 35mm cine film frame. You might have to contact the manual to see to what "35mm" (academy 35mm?) exactly refers to...

Unless you're cropping to Scope, you will want to use 1.77:1 for any 16:9 imager work. Most real director's finders will have lens calibration appropriate for 1/3" or 2/3" cameras. Unless you're shooting with a S35mm sensor (e.g., RED), you would not use the 35mm spherical setting for focal length.

he is shooting with the SGPro so the 35mm spherical setting would be right....

So if you have something like the cavision viewfinder, and you're shooting hvx with 35 adapter (assuming its zoomed to appropriate FOV on the ground glass) you would reference the "35mm" readings on the dir viewfinder? And a 1.77 aspect ratio (16:9)?
