director reel/website advice

Are there any good examples of director websites?

I'm looking to put up my own website, but I'm not too sure about what it should have. Should it contain certain clips from my short films to showcase the acting? or the entire films themselves?

I've seen lots of cinematography reels/websites, but I'm assuming it's not the same.

Also, I have mock music videos as well, but I don't own the rights to the music (the videos were for specific contests in which I was required to use the music). Can I post these videos as well?

Thanks a lot.

i'd put the music clips but i wouldnt put an entire film(s) on the website. it'll kill u on bandwidth and either crash or cost you extra $$$ on webhosting depending on how many people are on your site.

i was thinking of putting my short film on my website once i finish it but now i'm leaning more towards just putting up a trailer and maybe a scene from the movie. right now i'm uploading clips from my short film and emailing the link to the actors for them to review while we're in production like this: http://www.jamescarveronline.com/video/the_hit/scene8.html

as far as director websites and what to put on it as far as content goes just start clicking on a lot of the guys footers here and their username and click the link that takes you to their homepage. you'll get a lot of ideas of how to market yourself as a director or production copmpany.
