There are a lot of very talented composers here, so I'm sure you'll hear specific feedback from them on this topic. I recently posted this page (http://www.matterofchance.com/wildlifeless/) to reach out for composers on a short film, and got really positive feedback on the content from the composers that looked at it. I'm told when you begin to work on the score with a composer you will "spot" the film, meaning reviewing it beat for beat so they understand the emotional motivation and story points involved.
