Hello

I have very basic HD sequence in FCP and i need to output it to a dvd.

Are there steps I need to follow?

I don't want to lose a ton of resolution.

But the dvd just needs to be first play - no menu options.

thanks!!!
Cristina

Output your video and audio through compressor as you normally would. Then import your files into DVDSP and drop them in the track provided. In the graphical view, right-click on your track and chose 'First Play.' Couldn't be simpler.

Great thank you!

However I have never used compressor.

Are there a myriad of steps inorder to compress the file?

thanks again,
Cristina

Compressor is pretty easy-
Just drag your movie file in, then drag the compression you want onto it (Ex- DVD 90 min best quality folder w/ vid & audio) and hit submit. It will make two files that you will then bring into the assets folder of DVDSP.

thank you I am doing that now.

Although when its in compressor i cant see that image or the video in the preview pane. I can just hear the audio. Is that normal?

Thanks,
C

The video tutorial above should help you. Did you export your movie from fcp using File -> Export -> Export quicktime movie -> then select current settings and have audio and video checked (default) ?

If it's audio only, you'll see a speaker icon in compressor. You can verify the file by playing it in quicktime to make sure you have vid and audio.
