Hello,

I just bought 2 diopter +10 filters for my panasonic 12-35mm 2.8 and one for my caopn 50mm 1.8.

Is it normal when using these diopters, you can only use them on objects that are close by? like my 50mm1.8, The object I am focussing on needs to be 5 cm's away from my lens+diopter? Was actually hoping that I could use it on objects that are like a meter away from my lens+diopter.

yes that's normal, a diopter shifts the focus range from far to near. you would need a long macro to get macros from one meter distance, for example the Tamron 180mm f3,5 macro lens.
 
If you want macro shots I suggest getting macro spacers as you are not putting extra glass on you camera which lessen the quality.
