Digitizing tapes, price per tape, is it worth it?

hey, quick question, a guy wants me to simply import some tapes into fcp2. He's got 20 HD tapes, and needs them all imported. I have an HD camera that i COULD import the tapes through.

However he says he is only able to pay $10 per tape, so $200 total. Would this be worth the time being put on my camera?

Keep in mind i'm fairly new to the video business, i'm a college student. Just started not too long ago with paying gigs. i put $2000 towards my camera and the 20 hours camera usage to import these tapes would pay for a 10th of it...

Is it worth it?

any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance

If you keep some head cleaning tapes handy,
your time is probably more of the issue here.
$10 an hour may not be much in some places.

Let's face it, this may be the camera's greatest achievement for a while. Don't waste it. ;)

Seems to low to me.

Maybe, try one tape for $10. Get a better idea of what is involved before agreeing to do the rest at that price.

I charge 30.00 an hour. O_o; I guess if you got nothin' better to do.

But digitizing tapes is a pain in the ass. You gotta watch and make sure you don't get drop outs, etc. Log, yadda and yadda.

yea i initially gave him a quote of $20 per tape, we'll see, i guess it all depends if i have enough time with nothing else to do...
