Digital submissions to festivals

Hey guys

I've been checking out Without A Box these past few days for my short film and a I'm a little confused. I see some festivals offer a digital submission, i.e, MOV, MPEG, and so on.

I'm sorry if this is a newbie question - this is my first submission in the digital age - but when a festival accepts a digital file is there a way to send them the file online or do you need to send them a flash drive or something? I'm trying to avoid sending DVD's as much as possible.
And on a side note, when a festival acepts MPEG/MPEG 2 can I assume this also includes MPEG 4?

Also, there is an option to send an online screener through WAB and IMDB. Does anyone have any experience with this? The WAB upload does not have HD capabilities, and I have my film on Vimeo right now in HD, so I prefer to just send my Vimeo link, but I guess it's not possible.

Thanks.

WAB allows you to upload a secure screener and use that to submit to a good amount of festivals. Not all of them accept them, and a few people ask for a DVD in addition, but they sure save a lot of hassle mailing out files. As far as exhibition format, that's all over the map. If they accept a DCP and you have the ability to make one or pay to have one made that's probably your best option.

Thank you.

My main issue with the WAB screener option is that it doesn't do HD. One would think that it's advantageous to show festivals your film the way it was shot.
Sending a DVD of an HD production doesn't do it justice as well, but the number of festivals allowing submissions on a Blu-Ray is close to none, so I guess it's not such an issue for them after all...
But I would rather just send a raw digital file than upload a low-quality screener.
