Digital projections

Today I saw Horrible Bosses at Pacific Culver Stadium 12, my favorite Los Angeles theater, and was horrified to hear that the theater was switching entirely to digital projections in the next two weeks. The reasons I love this theater are many, but chief among them is because it favored its beautiful, well-maintained 35mm projections and pristine prints over the digital craze that seems to be taking over the cinema world (up until recently, evidently). I kind of feel like implementing digital projections across the nation is a negative thing. For one, I love the look of a pristine 35mm print - that's what a movie looks like to me. And second, it seems to be marginalizing projectionists, who prior to the digital revolution enjoyed the benefits of a highly technical and sustainable craft. How do you guys feel about digital projections, and the pressure Hollywood is putting on cinemas to implement these systems?
