Digital Noise Problem

Hey guys,

I'm filming with DVX100A and using 24p Standard. For some reason, some of my footage digital noise. I set the gain on the camera to the lowest setting, but it's still there on the footage. I have 2 questions:

1. How can I avoid this in future shots?
2. Is there a way to reduce the digital noise in VEGAS?

Thanks,

Jeff

You can try Mike Crash's denoiser plugin for Vegas, www.mikecrash.cz
It's free. Get the "Levels" tool while you're there. Both are really great.
As far as getting rid of the noise, that's all about light, aperture, and shutter speed. Something has to go up somewhere, or something has to slow down, somewhere.

Thanks. These are great plug-ins. Do you know anywhere else where VEGAS plug-ins are available for free... I've already visited VASST.com (great site, by the way)

All the free plugs for Vegas are listed on the Vegas Gateway plugin page, I'm not aware of any others that aren't (or else they'd be listed:) ). Of course, there are lots of paid-for plugs as well. There is also the VASST Freeware, of which currently there are five.

I downloaded the auto levels plugin from mike crash, unzipped it to my desktop. But how do I get the plugin into Vegas (I have V5 if that makes a difference).

I just figured out my above question. For anyone interested in installing these filters, once you unzip the downloaded file, right click the icon, agree to the license, highlight the filter, and then click install. Bingo, it is then in your filters list in Vegas. Auto levels is especially nice.

I tried clicking on this link and it doesn't work, I get a message that it can't be found. Is there a different address for this site, or are these plugins available somewhere else?

Thanks,
Larry

Problem

I could get Tv out working but other filters I cannot put them in to vegas there is no "exe" file for setup, any idea?

Just realized no one had mentioned the "Median" Filter in Vegas as well. Used correctly and carefully, this can also reduce noise based on frame movement. But damn, does it add a lot of render time!

After I render the clips I stiil have noise, Look like this filter dosn't work very well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
