I am surprised there are no posts about the Red Dragon footage about to go live. Mark Toia's footage will represent a sort of new era in 2d motion capture. While all if the same principles of photography still apply, never before has digital had the audacity to be considered better than film. Perhaps today, that will change for us all?

Thanks. I was posting from my phone earlier. Anyway, looks like another thread is talking about it now. I was just surprised that something this big in camera history was not front and center. Film? Beat? Big news. Big news. (of course they are still different, but balls in the digital court for the first time ever.)

Sorry James0b57 - I didn't see your post.

I was surprised that this isn't ripping through the net. I was awake early today (work to do) and saw it a few hours back... and (so far) not much traction.

I think it looks pretty amazing, and Toia is independent and single minded, so a great person to choose to be first out of the block.

It all looks fine, I think it's just that even with the meter readings displayed, it's hard to process that information visually. You'd need to see how other camera formats handle those same scenes of extreme contrast to really put into prospective what dragon is doing.
