For those who may not know about the Digicon; It is a new filter from Schneider Optics (our parent company) that compresses the top (highlights) and bottom (shadows) and lowers the crossover point (on a scope) without affecting resolution. The thought was that formats that did not handle overexsposure very well could use this to save a scene that had a unexpected blowout, could go back in post and pull the highs back up, and push the blacks back down, or any combination). It turns out the film (16mm) guys are also using this filter to good effect.

Ken, whats your opinion on the filters.. do you think they work well, have you seen them in action? ive been considering getting one as well, and would really like a comparative picture to look at that is not merely a simulated image. id like to see one image with some blowouts, and one using the filter where it compensates for the blowout.
Jarred. do you have one of these or something like it? didnt you post an image set like the ones im looking for a long time ago? any way you could throw those out here again if you got them still?
