Diffuse Light in Music Video

I particularly like the way the light wraps around the main singer in the opening shots and near the end when they're outside. Is that just overpowering diffused light from behind? Or is there something else to make it diffuse in front of the actor like that even though it clearly comes from behind?

It's possible that it's a lense flare but I also think they added it digitally. I've seen some great digital lense flare work on another video. I think it's good high power lighting with good post production.

Yeah, it is a lens flare. But I don't know if it was added or not....

Now, adding it may be the easiest way of doing it, cause you may not get exactly the types of flares you want in camera unless you have specific lenses (and those lenses may not be available to you).

Looking at it again. It is light from the window that is blown out. I still can't tell if it's the lens or a digital effect that is doing that though.
