Difficulty keeping DVX from slipping on Glidecam Base

Hey there--

I've got a Glidecam 2000 with a Bogen 577 QR plate. I get alot of slipping and sliding between the QR adapter plate and the base plate of the GlideCam (a standard mounting screw connects the glidecam with the QR adapter plate) I'm think a thin rubber skin, or something would provide the extra friction needed to keep the two plates from sliding.
I don't really know of anything specific, though. Anyone have any ideas??
Thanks!

I use the same quick release on my glidecam 4000/smooth shooter setup and there is a large tear shaped tensioner bolt that you tighten once the two halfs have slid in place. The tensioner needs to be set so it just allows the plates to slide in when its facing at nine o'clock position and is very tight at the three o'clock position.

If you don't have that tensioner set up properly you will run into the issue you're having. Set it up before you attach the bottom half of the QR to the glidecam.

I got some grip tape that is meant for pool side walkways and put that on the Glidecam plate, and it fixed that problem for me.

If that solves the problem, and I was Terence, I would be SO embarassed I would probably re-register under a different name.:embarasse

Yeah- the tensioner on the adapter is tight and the plate fits in great--it's just the small lack of resistance or "stickiness" between the bottom of that adapter plate and the upper black plate of the glidecam that causes the sliding. It's the same situation if I attach the plate directly into the female thread of the DVX--lots of unwanted movement between the bottom of the camera and the glidecam plate.

I'll certainly look into the tape--thanks for the suggestion. I was also wondering the is a "skin" with an adhesive back that can be cut down and fit around the plate.

Thanks again!
