Difficult hardware/software setup for 48 audio and 3 visual tracks

Dear friends

A filmproject which involves 48 women.

I have a complicated technical challange infront of me and i am hoping for some advice from you.

I need a setup that allows me to run 3 videos and 3 (3*16) audio tracks simultanious and in sync. (And which can easily be transported, and managed by anyone)

Please see the att.

A is the filmprojectors for video
B is for the audio 3*16
C is the computer that is suppose to run the whole thing and not crash;)

Does anyone here have experience with a simular setup??? I don't want to write about all the details that i am having problems with. I am hoping someone can send me a package that just works :P (not likely i am affraid)

As i see it, i need 3 soundcards with 16channels out. I can either have a software based solution, which involves the viewer communicating with the computer that runs the whole thing, or i can have an analogue solution with 3 (3*16) holes to plug the headset into (meaning 9 people can enjoy at the same time). I prefere the softwaresolution since it allows me to track the choices the viewer makes about which track s/he wants to listen to.

Naturally the whole thing has to be able to loop.

Short about the non techpart of the project. 48 womyn are filmed one at a time in a neutral room. First full figure, standing in silence. Then closeup of face while she talks. the Womyn are then grouped into 3 groups of 16 and projected onto 3 screens. the viewer will be able to choose which of the 16 womyn s/he wants to listen to, and change to another woman when and if s/he wants. It is a portrait of danish women 2009.

As you can clearly see i have several tricky bits to work out. How can i make it all fit together. Anyone with experience, ideas or technical expertise to help me?
:dankk2:cheers

This sounds very complex...is this a live event, interactive program, or perhaps a streaming service of some sort?

No matter how you would like to come at it, I would strongly suggest trying to find a local sound guy.

thanx. I just got one of the best freesoftware programmers in denmark to help me. So i feel more calm. But to answer your question. It is static, meaning no interaction or livefeed. Exept the part were the viewer may choose which soundtrack to hear.

But i am still interested in any expertice you guys may have on this sort of matter.

thank you in advance

Sony Vegas can handle this easily, but with only one video playing. To get the other two videos, you'll need to open a couple more Vegas sessions, and lock them to the first session using MTC through HUBI Midi Loopback.

Another way to do it is to have a macro unmute a video track, which would let the spectator select which track to watch. I'm not sure if Macros extend this far in Vegas though.
