Different file sizes, same compression at 1080p

I cannot sleep this week. There is a strange thing going on in computers.

One minute of video at 1080p in quicktime at photo jpeg 100% compression:

- gives me a file of 800 Mb when rendering in VEGAS.

- but the exactly same footage goes up to 1.2 Gb if i render it in After Effects.

- And the most strange is when doing the same thing in premiere an a proffesional avid system, the file grows up to 1.8 Gb.

Why is this happening? (by the way, the vegas file looks better than premiere, but must be because rendering quality i guess).

Different programs handle things differently. No big surprises here, especially if you can’t exactly replicate the settings between the programs, which in most cases, you can’t.
