Difference between Region 0 and Region 1 DVD

What's the difference between these? I'm compressing using Compressor and then burning using Roxio Toast. Is that Region 0 or Region 1? I need Region 0 for this festival , if I'm not getting that with Compressor and Toast, how do I get it? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Region 0 will work in players worldwide while Region 1 is for North America. I'm not familiar with your software but in Adobe Encore, for example, you can select the region encoding. Dig around in your preferences or check the documentation to see if this is an option. It's possible it authors in Region 0 by default. You might be able to burn a sample disc and use other software to determine the region code.
