Like Terry said, Gatorade. I buy the bucket o' powder and make my own.
With all the water you were drinking, the sweating and p!ssing it out, you had to have messed up your electrolyte levels.

Ditto the cold towels (around your neck) or small ice cold cloths across the veins in your wrists- it actually cools your blood and body temperature down.

And don't forget clothing- wear wicking clothes. Under armour, etc. so the sweat is pulled off your body and evaporates (cooling you like it's supposed to) instead of a sopping, soaked t shirt- aka body condom... Especially a problem in humid climes.

Around here, it's not the heat (92-94), it's the humidity (90%), probably similar in Dallas.

I think you're spot-on here.

Definitely giving this a shot this weekend. I have a small shoot Saturday. I think I'll take a small cooler with ice and a few hand towels.

I might try that. I have a ton of under armor I wear when I go scuba diving. Never thought to use them on a shoot.

Yup.

I highly agree that watching what you eat, ALL the time, not just on shoots, is a huge part. the more I have to deal with physically strenuous activities the more I realize the absolute importance of diet. not to say you can't survive on donuts and redbull, but eventually your body is going to crash. I gave up fast food for over a year and I cannot put in to words how great I felt every single day (granted I still craved the junk stuff all the time), but just not having that processed junk in your body is an extraordinary feeling

recently I've worn a bandana soaked in ice cold water around my neck, it stays cool and damp for quite some time, and during the mid-day heat it is a life-saver.
