Did Your Rode Blimp Come with Instructions?

Mine just came with the quick start guide.

No company prints real manuals anymore. It costs money. I printed out the full manual along with the manual for my HD-P2 and put them in one of those book report binders. I keep it in my case so I can choose not to look at it anytime I want.

Did your new water tap came with a instruction booklet?

Instructions for a blimp? Come on folks.

Frank

I agree. If you dont know how to figure out the blimp put it down. I had to take a Nintendo DSi away from someone the other day because they could not get the game out.

Hey, I had a Rycote Softie. This thing came with a part that I had no clue about and another than fell out when I was opening it up. The first is a plug to use when you run your own cable though the handle into the blimp. I doubt the process is intuitive and it is not into the quick start guide. The part was a filler around the cable going into the blimp (I kinda figured that out), but the manual says it is not necessary when using a cable larger than 7mm.

When I was in High School I actually saw a pack of condoms that came with instructions.
At the time, it wasn't exactly a bad thing.......

Yes but what does the spectrogram say??? Is it a quality unit?;~)

but to be fair I know a very experienced editor who has done quite a bit of recording that put his long zep together backwards so the handle was very close to the capsule and you had this monster coming back at you. And this was a Rycote.

does anyone know if there are replacement parts for the Rode Blimp? Apparently the little rubber piece that holds the mic cable fell out and I can't for the life of me find it.

Call Rode. I called them to find out what guage of cable they used. The guy I talked to wasn't able to give me a difinitive answer, but he was quite friendly and did his best to help me out.

If they can't sell you a new rubber thingy, use slightly thicker cable then the one provided and make a new one. Use a Switchcraft AAA3MZ connector in the handle. I tried a different kind at first when I made a longer pigtial and it didn't quite fit right.

so I emailed the guys at RODE and they said that they would ship me a replacement part for free. Those guys are freakin brilliant!! Now I just need to superglue the effing thing on when I get it.
