if you keep the fsrit and lsat lrtetes in the smae pcale you dno't need to put the rset of the lterets in teihr cedsproioneng pealcs for oevr ftfiy pncreet of ppoele to be albe to raed waht you are siyang?

did that work? I may have deleted a few extra letters :P

here is the original:
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in waht oerdr the ltteres in a wrod are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. If you can raed tihs, psot it to yuor wlal. Olny 55% of plepoe can!

Works best with your native language. This is the first time I saw it in English and the trick does not really work for me (and I read a lot of english on a dayly base). In Dutch I had that giggle about it a year or two ago.

Length matters, too.

And I find the original much easier to read than the paragraph above it. I also have trouble with netspeak. So there's apparently more to it.

Yeah I can read that at my normal speed... the only word that slowed me even slightly was "important"... the rest I got through in seconds. Vrey Ietrentisg. < see, I think there's a little more to it then that... you CAN jumble words to be wrong, and yet more... or less... recognizable.

I think they should say that this works up to the point that the jumbled letters in a word start to follow normal consonant and vowel patterns.
