Did you keep your box?

Just wondering: manufacturers always tell you to keep the box in case you need to send something in for repairs. Did you keep your DVX box? I could use the space it takes.

You could break it down and fold it up to take less room. Toss the packing material.

It's not like Panasonic is going to void the warranty because you don't have the box....

;D Friend of mine bought a Sony 62" LCD TV and kept the box in the garage for 6 months because the guide said "Keep original packaging" I finally told them it was not mandatory [after a good teasing session naturally]

I kept mine. An eternal monument to my stupidity (It's grey market and has no "P" at the end of the model number). BUt I save the boxes stuff comes in. I think that comes from moving so often. Stuff travels better in it's original box. Of course, I've been in this house for 7 years now...Old habits die hard.

Jim, I agree about old habits. I've kept dozens of boxes that I never used. My slightly more rational self tells me that good boxes and packing materials are readily available if needed. For the DVX, I'd probably double box with lots of styrofoam everywhere.

Your DVX should be in a nice case or bag, anyway. And, no way would I trust it to a mover.

i just got mine yesterday and i need to get a bag, any of you guys recommend a bag or case?

when i do get my bad im gonna still cover my dvx with the original packaging to keep the dust off. :)

I have a Pelican. Built like a truck. In fact, if I were standing in front of a moving truck with the DVX in that case, I know which of us would survive.

I kept the original box because when I resell the camera I might be able to get more for it. Hey, that little cardboard box might get me an extra $50! Throw the box in your actic and consider it an investment.

I would suggest the Porta Brace bags. You can find some on eBay for pretty cheap. ($50-$75). Search keywords; Porta Brace

I kept mine. This is my first 3-chip camera. Sure, I've used lots of them over the last few years, but this is the first one I actually own.

I use a samsonite duffel bag for mine...it has a slightly padded bottom, and many useful pockets for my mics and tapes and cables...and soylent green.

Sometimes I forget that it's not a real camera bag. I think it was designed by some poor guy at Samsonite who hasn't yet come to grips with his deferred dreams of becoming a digital filmmaker.

WHat model is that? I have a hard case, but I can't fit much besides the camera, battery, charger and a few tapes.

Hopefully not the truck, for having the nerve to try and run your DVX down like that... for shame!

I carry all my stuff around in black garbage bags – Hell; ya get 40 for like 3 bucks!

I put bricks in mine. And sold it on the black market. I'll be long gone by the time anyone finds out!.. ;D
