Can you tell us what this CAN and CANNOT be used with?
The way I have created the effect over the years it to start with a low level light with something like CTO on it that creates a continuous glow. Then using a smaller fixture (50 to 100 watt spot with yellow) I put that on the flickerer. Same thing for TV set effect but with two blues. For a theater effect where the projector is behind you I use a 120 volt MR16 Spot which works real well with some fog or mist. One thing I noticed that isn't so clear in the cheap videos I shot with a single chip camera last night at 3am is that when I created a movie file the effect seemed more on of than peaks and troughs as it is in the original video. I guess the codec can't handle the subtleties all that well.

1 Light is used for the actual lighting
and
1 Light is used for effect
Yes! If I was to use one light then when it turned off, there would be too much darkness. So I use one light to create a base of light (low level but enough to read). Then the flicker light becomes the highlight so to speak. Look at the video demo of the campfire. Use your mouse to move it slowly frame by frame. notice how the flicker is a highlight and when it is not on the base-light shows up under the brighter flicker?

Good for yo. I'm sure you'll find it a nice addition to your kit. I just sold the ten I built this weekend so I will make more this week. I should have them ready to go in a few days. You'll be notified of shipment date with a tracking number.
Mr Graff,
What I'd like to know is the cost and when those flourescent and oncamera led light will come out. Its rather exciting as I'm sure everybody here is in the hunt for affordable flourescents.
