Did someone say easy?

thanks guys! much appreciated.

another question. i'm not using the BR3, i have a mount that screws on. any suggestions on how to connect?

i was given a nikon N60 for parts. i am trying to use the mount on it. it has no thread. that's why i'm asking. should i look into a different mount?

So, just to clarify, you're taking the F-mount off of the N60 and attaching that to your adapter tube, right? As there is no thread on the F-mount itself, I'd probably use some JB Weld or similar epoxy compound and just attach that directly to your adapter. If your adapter tube has threads then I would recommend attaching the F-mount to a UV filter (with glass removed) or similar threaded ring so that if you ever need to remove the mount you can do so easily. Wish I had some better advice for you, but based on the parameters of your parts that is what I would try.

ok thanks.. i was thinking i had to do that. i'm thinking about just buying a br-3. i greatly appreciate it ovjamaica.. another question. i'm thinking about reversiving the macro lens. any ideas where i can get a female/femal adapter?

ok. i think i figured a way to get this whole thing done...but hook it on? every step down ring i find from the dvx to the macro has a female 72...we need a male. any suggestions?

Faceless,

Get a Cokin A ring. Take your mount and glue it to the flat side of the Cokin and then use the threaded side to screw onto the Thorlabs. I did this with an old Canon FD mount. I just used super glue. I hope that helps. Remember Cokin A series.

I'm almost lost now. The cokin A ring only has one side and it's male. The other has a flat surface, so it wouldn't really work at the end of the adapter. The Cokin is just to use for getting your mount on the thor labs tube, because mounts have no threads and no way of screwing or glueing straight onto the tube. The cokin comes in play buy glueing the mount onto it, then screwing the cokin onto the tube, provided you have the right mm.

sorry if i'm confusing everybody. let me start from scratch.

i'm getting the br3 to make things easier. i attach that on the tube, with the focus screen in the tube. at the other end of the tube goes the macro. the macro is 52mm. so now, it's pretty much done. all i have to do to use it, is attach it on to the dvx100a. i'm assuming i need step down rings from 72mm - 52mm. everytime i mention it to a store, or i look online, i am presented with step up rings. doesn't the step down ring have the thread on the 72mm side to attach to the dvx? if not, how do i attach the adapter to the dvx lens? i hope i clarified a little better. i apologize for the inconvenience. i'm not too bright of a guy. i fell a lot as a child.

Yes, you will need a step down ring. The step down rings have a thread on the large side (72mm) to screw onto your DVX. The other side will have a female thread (52mm) for you to thread the tube into. I have a similar setup, but mine goes from 72mm to 55mm. 72mm down to 52mm is a really uncommon size. You'll have to use two of them, such as a 72mm-58mm and then a 58-52mm. Lots of different combinations you could use. Hope that helps.

any suggestions on where to get the step down ring? everyone describes to me the step up ring and the pictures shown are the step up ring. sorry to sound like an idiot.

another question is. with this set up. is there anything i can do to "protect" the focus screen while it's in the tube. some other adapters have the screen in between two uv filters. problem is, i don't know of any filters with the thread around the outside, like the retainer ring. just a question.

got to fotodiox.com and buy from them for the step-up, step-down ring.
get a 52mm female to 72mm male. Which I think is considered step up.

Also to protect the screen you would have to buy 2 more retainer rings
then get two 49mm uv filters. That slides directly inside the tube with no problem.
The retainer rings are there to support the uv filters from sliding around.

Hope that helps.

sorry to keep being a nuisance, but any suggestions on where to get a spanner wrench? i tried looking at hardware stores and online. no luck. any help would be appreciated.
