Did I read somewhere that the HPX has a flip feature?

I can't remember where the heck I read that! Will it flip it right side up?

EDIT: So after I typed this question I remembered it was in Barry's second look article that I read this:

"2) In LCD REV mode, pressing the LCD button toggles between normal, and 180-degree rotated (for 35mm adapters). When in flipped mode all menu items are hidden, as are the waveform and vectorscope and, sadly, the focus assists too (at least, in this pre-release preproduction version). Only the LCD flips, the EVF does not, which is great: the menus are all displayed on the EVF regardless of the flip status. You do get the focus bar and the EVF DTL in the viewfinder, but nothing on the LCD."

so will this completely eliminate the need for the "flip modules" for the 35mm adapters?

To each his own, but I'd rather have an optical flip a million billion times more than some upside-down LCD solution.

But, in reference to your question, for monitoring purposes you can now use it to monitor the footage right-side up. The footage will still be recorded upside-down, but at least it's monitored rightside up. There are other tradeoffs too (such as the loss of WF/VS and focus assists).

So, it's a better situation than ever before, but still doesn't hold a candle to just using a rightside-up adapter in the first place.

So basically, to gain the WF/VS and focus assists abilities one would have to buy the flip modules that those guys offer. darn.... haha
