I was looking at the screenshot on sony's site, and i've noticed that they added a feature where you can finally have 2 preview screens just like in all the other professional NLE's.
did anyone notice the update to the trimmer in vegas pro 9?

That's not new. You can have that in 8. And in the earlier versions, except you couldn't have full-motion video in it before 8.0c.

"Multicamera Workflow
Edit multicamera productions intuitively and quickly by specifying shots as you watch your project. Switch between as many as 32 video sources with a keyboard command or a click of your mouse. Vegas Pro 9 software keeps all unused shots as alternate takes to make fine-tuning your edits more efficient."

Multicam has been there since 8 as well with 3rd Party multicam options since Vegas 5.
As for the preview monitor now being a big focus... I find that a bit amusing because for so many years, Sony has always stated that the dual preview screens is old hat. Not that it's new in Vegas, but that it's got so much attention now is ironic.

I agree. I personally always thought it was a waste of screen real estate if you're in a single-monitor environment.
But here, they're obviously trying to evoke the image of FCP, Avid, or Premiere, which makes you wonder how they think they're doing in the market.
