Can anybody confirm the light loss when using dichroic filters? I read somewhere that is is 1 stop.

Are you talking about dichroic daylight conversion filters? There are a bunch of different types of them...

That's what Lowe claims but I can't see how dichroic filters can lose any less light than dyed polycarbonate, gels, so it seems to me that it should be about 1 2/3 stops.

Yep, the daylight conversion ones. I was looking at the ones for the mickey moles and also in fay lights. Looks like a cheap way for some daylight kick.

I own the Lowel DP Dichroic filter and looses only 2/3 of a stop Compared to the gel that is 1-2/3, is great and is only $ 110.
I used it here
