These are the more detailed notes
BTW I use MOVIE NOTETAKER for this. Not sure where you can get it now it was always free and hasn't been updated in a VERY long time but it still works in OSX10.10

________________________________________
movietime: 00:00:08:07 - Snore is good but I would also have one earlier
movietime: 00:00:17:14 - her FS sound CU but she is down the hall
movietime: 00:00:27:13 - Be nice if there were bedding movement with him.
movietime: 00:00:35:05 - General note on bedroom. There is a hint of some outside noise, but more character would add some depth to the setting. Also it looks like she must have gone down stairs and out the door but she sounded like she went down the hall andinto the bathroom. Kind of normal after getting up. So I would record some real down the stairs FS and the door also needs to sound downstairs.
movietime: 00:00:44:14 - One would expect it to be the kitchen he goes into and though we don't see it we should probably hear it? In any case down stairs rarely sounds the same as up stairs so we kind of want/expect a change of some sort.
movietime: 00:00:54:03 - the last knock sounds clipped
movietime: 00:00:54:16 - Outside should sound a lot diferent from inside. More nature, more cars, life, dogs? Nice door open.
movietime: 00:01:02:14 - Maybe wind for the leaves blowing in the bg (door open)? Maybe a door close on the cut? Maybe not but might be nice.
movietime: 00:01:11:16 - Seems like there is a bit of refridg hum and a dog out side, helps.
movietime: 00:01:18:06 - this hit? It doesn't have the sharp slappyness one would expect. It does have a bassy whoosh. May be a design choice but it seems like it wants to be cleaner. Lighter whoosh and a cleaner smack.
movietime: 00:01:29:08 - The RT seems to fade in and out. You didn't use a gate you said but if you had used a gate or a compressor this is what "breathing" would sound like. So if someone tells you they can hear the compressor "breathing" that is what they are talking about. From what you posted this is a mix issue. You really don't want the RT (Room Tone) to change noticably during the scene. Bascialy you work to get it as low as you can then work to keep it as even as you can. THen you add ambineces and other SFX on top of that.
movietime: 00:01:49:08 - The dialog has a mid/ low peak. A good way to find/reduce this is to take a notch filter and get it really tight and boost it. Then sweap it till you get something that sounds a bit like mic feedback. Once you find the resonating freq. you reverse it and cut that freq. a bit. There are often more than one but usually one is the biggest problem. Right now is sounds a bit like they are talking into a red SOLO cup.
movietime: 00:02:33:07 - a small thing but it would be icing on the cake to put a little sound on his moves. A touch of forhead hitting hands and maybe a crunch of hands into beard. There is so little going on that small sounds like that would help.
movietime: 00:03:01:10 - nice with the floor creak (though maybe in production- we often add things like that to give the house some character). Also would have been nice to have some skin smack floor since his bare arms hit.
movietime: 00:03:01:05 - A Foley moment would be his hands hitting the wall as he grabs it to look around. It shure looks like we would hear it.
movietime: 00:03:09:03 - This did not sound like a cast iron pan, more like a 2X4 (very woody). Other wise not bad but you do need a metalic hit there. I would probably also change the FS. The clone guy sounds like he is wearing the same slippers as our hero.
movietime: 00:03:15:10 - see here his shoues sound like shoes. Also the pan crash sound again does not sound like metal. I would also have it hit more than one thing, it's hard and will bounce a bit.
movietime: 00:03:19:23 - could use some hanger on rod noises for the search.
movietime: 00:03:30:16 - this sounds out door, as it should, but a bit more nature would be nice. If that dog was barking before maybe again? Or maybe not till later so it has more tension like someone may notice?
movietime: 00:03:44:09 - I would put in some body drops/ hits for him bouncing down the step(s)
movietime: 00:03:48:13 - This sounds like production. I would replace the FS with some cleaner ones and we want to hear the dragging feet of our hero. It was probably boomed from above or laved and it sound a bit like mic noise and smooshed together.
movietime: 00:03:50:17 - You are right some button beeps would work well. Also since we can't see anything on the screen maybe a "confirmation sound" after he types? Really depends on how that computer works in this world but some UI feedback sound would make it feel like he was entering something instead of checking email.
movietime: 00:04:05:16 - I think I mentioned it before but I really want to hear something related to the blinky lights.
movietime: 00:04:11:05 - FS kind of hit and mis. I assume they were production.
movietime: 00:04:17:14 - nice sound of the money we should hear it go into his pocket.
movietime: 00:04:25:04 - RV door ...OK but it seems like there was a close with out an open? Might not be time though so?
movietime: 00:04:28:09 - Car door open is an interior perspective but we are out side. I would also record the INT sounds, maybe you can just roll off enough bas? It's got That TOO buch bas muddy sound. Plant mic or lav trying to get dialog, and you want a cardioid with a bit more distance on it to record specifics. When we had a car we would "cover" it, record every kind of sound we cold from it. Starts stops doors glove box shifting hood windows turn signal etc. Next time if you have a similar car you already have the library.
movietime: 00:04:44:16 - May be production but nice move with the phone coming out and the change of tone. This first switch from car to park is fine for amb switch.
movietime: 00:04:52:15 - her BG cuts out before we switch to car.
movietime: 00:04:56:08 - Car has weird hum/buzz (soft buzz) and is way too dead, like it was ADR. BUT the big thing is that on this switch back WE (the audience) are no longer switching locals, WE are both places at the same time, or neither place. So either we only hear "over the phone" or we hear live but we don't fly back and forth between both locals because the "location" is the phone call not the park or the car. People hear what is important and neither location is important.
movietime: 00:05:29:21 - The back and forth is really distracting from what IS important which is the conversation
movietime: 00:05:38:04 - That is a werd sound. It sounds like something ripping rather than the klunk of a big switch, though it could work.
movietime: 00:05:40:14 - I would probably sweeten some of the mechanics, maybe his presure regulator squeaks, or we hear the gas flow?
movietime: 00:05:47:12 - Editorial not- he seems to be trying to get pressure but he turns the know counterclockwise wich would lower the pressure.
movietime: 00:05:55:06 - BTW better big switch klunk
movietime: 00:06:03:08 - Would really like some electronic sound for that big knob. Right now it looks like he is turning up the music...
movietime: 00:06:18:19 - We have BIG music but the machine doesn't seem to make any sound? Personally I would rather hear the machine than the music but?
movietime: 00:06:33:11 - Personally I would toghten up the music gap a bit. I think you will find a better place to have the big end. Maybe a beat or two sooner.
movietime: 00:06:40:06 - He is out in the middle of nowhere but all I hear is some distant freeway roar? Forest sounds?
movietime: 00:06:54:15 - and Foley would probably ad some body grass interaction. We get a touch but only on the distant shot.
movietime: 00:07:06:19 - Right after the cut we get a touch of hawk, would be nice to have more world sooner.
movietime: 00:07:24:03 - So the CU has a truck or plane or something. Kind of kills the "nowhere" part. If you create more "world" out here you may be able to bury it enough? If not you may have to replace the production sound.
movietime: 00:07:27:13 - FS would be great
