Hi guys im troubled in an audio issue, i do weeding videography and need to record the ceremony audio without using my camera as the output device.
I got An Azden wireless lavalier pack that is mounted on camera and pluged via miniplug. I wonder if some of you guys could recomend some kind of audio recording device (harddrive, minidisc) that could fit with my microphones.

I appreciate every comment.

Inexpensive - the Olympus LS-10 is a nice little unit - very well made and *not* plastic. Similar price to the Zoom H2.

I have just ordered an LS-10 for myself.

The Edirol R-09HR is also a good little unit - but make sure you get the new HR version and not the earlier one.

At a little bit more (but still inexpensive) look at the Fostex FR-2LE.

For Pro. the new Nagra LB looks superb (and, yes, I am likely to get one of these as well).

I hope this helps.

I just purchased the Microtrack II by mAudio. I am considering the Countryman EMW for my Lav. Question is how should I have it wired. The MicroTrack II has a stereo 1/8" input and two 1/4" left and right inputs. Ideally I would like something compact to be worn on the actors, but I wonder if I should have it wired for XLR as it might produce a better signal? Any suggestions?

If you want one of the small inexpensive pocketable units, there were only 3 on my short-list. Olympus LS-10, Sony PCM-D50 and the Edirol R-09HR. The others I rejected for various reasons. I bought the Olympus, mainly for the size as this is not my main machine.

Going larger and more professional (but still not too expensive) is the Fostex FR-2LE.
