Device Control Presets - NDF or Not

What device control presets do you use when Captureing 24PA footage and using the 2:3:3:2 pulldown into a 23.98 Secquence. There are 3 choices:

Firewire NTSC
Firewire NTSC Basic
Firewire NTSC NDF

The first two drop frames, the last one of coarse does not. So what's the differece between NTSC and NTSC BASIC? And do you want to use drop frame timecode or not? Does it even matter?

Drop Frame timecode DOES NOT actually drop any frames. It just changes how the frames are numbered.

You must use DF timecode if you want your sequence to match actual running time. That's why sequences run at 29.97 and 23.98 rather than 30 and 24.

By using NDF timecode, what you think is 30 minutes will actually be 29 minutes, 59 1/15 seconds.
