I like it better without the modification. Doesn't look with bleach bypass either.
Here is a quick one in AE for bb:
- Desaturate enough so grey will start looking like silver and little color information is visible, so little that you think that you imagine it!
- Add just a touch of green tint.
- Add a lots of contrast as you wish.

Not really a product plug since you can do it without any pulgins. It's basically a free tutorial.
So, thanks for the free tutorial.
The CC Composit plugin looks cool. You could probably pull of that look or something with even more interesting contrast by not using Levels or Brightness and Contrast, and just use another instance of CC Composite set to Overlay.
So all that could be done with just one filter. Nice.
