Detail Peaking and external LCD monitors

Hey, can people who have an external monitor hooked up to their DVX's tell me if you can employ the PEAKING function on your eternal LCD to help with focusing?

So does that mean a non-high resolution monitor (think 1440 x 274) 7" lcd not really offer much benefits in terms of easier focusing than say the EVF in black and white mode with detail peaking on?

Maybe. Keep in mind though when they say 1440x274, they're lying through their teeth. They split the red, green, and blue pixels apart and count them separately. So it's really an effective resolution of 480x274.

I doubt that would give you much benefit over the existing LCD; that's 130k effective pixels and the camera's LCD is 235,000 pixels (assuming DVX100B here). But hey, you can try it...
