OK....it seemed decent with the SD card holders and battery and basic audio interface...but when I saw the solar panel part I really felt like I was being PUNK'D!

You have to manually correct the spelling for the word s*%t in the URL to see the Onion piece. ( the DVX forum software automagically changes the URL when you post it )

I am no longer enamored with DSLRs for shooting video. I would just get a Canon C100 now instead of trying to rig a dslr. By the time you spend the money to get nd filters, xlr inputs, evf, etc., you might as well just get a C100.
