Desperately seeking anyone who knows about slow motion

Having worked a lot with the V1U's slow motion mode, I can say that it has the capacity to produce good looking slow motion. Shooting in it's 3 second buffer mode, you can get very good quality SD slow motion footage with minimal artifacting. At the 5 and 10 second modes, the compression goes very bad and it artifacts a lot. Comparing the 60p of an HVX to the 240i of the V1U isn't really accurate since one is HD and the other is an SD "For-Fun" feature. Cut the V1 some slack.

Theres a different quality mode? i dunno the stuff igot was Mushy horrid interlaced hell. perhaps teh 3 sec one looks better.

Yeah, the V1 has 3 "Super Slow Mo" modes on it. The 3 second one (which yields about 30 seconds of footage) is the best quality. It looks like pretty normal SD video. The 5 second mode looks more like decent MPEG 1, and the 10 second mode looks like YouTube compression (bad).
