Deployed Soldier needs CS3 Help and Advice

I am deployed to Afghanistan and I am in the process of editing a short Doc about my deployment. One of the many issues I have is that when I add a still photo over the video (Voice Over) I re-size the still photo to 640x480 and you are able to see the video n both the left and right of the still photo. How do I re-size the photo so it takes up the entire screen?

Also, when I save the file and convert it to be able to play on windows media player it works great until I go to full screen and then the video slows down and becomes out of sync with the audio, any suggestions?

Thanks,
Chris

the simplest way is to drop a full resolution photo onto the timeline and then use the motion controls in the effects panel to resize it to whatever fits your needs

Indeed, use the motion control to scale it up or down to fill up your screen. Because the pixel size of your photo is not the same as your video, you will have to sacrafice some cropping of your photo to fill up the screen. It should be a fairly simple process.
