Wondering whether anyone has a good (fast) workflow for denoising and sharpening gopro protune footage. Premiere and AE are so agonizingly slow using stock effects that I'm even considering chucking footage in Nuke (don't know whether that would be faster). Trialling neatvideo and denoiser II, both of which are also extremely slow (they don't appear to be gpu accelerated). As far as other plugins, has anyone used Dark Matter or other plugins or stand-alone denoisers? On a dual-xeon workstation so no lack of horsepower (and making sure source footage comes from a separate SSD). It's driving me round the bend
rogar-BlackEye(DBG, as I really want to keep using protune, but the footage usually needs a bit of sharpening and denoising to give it some punch before sending to resolve (free version). Would the pro version of resolve be any faster? So far not even tried hero 4 4k footage yet, slow enough with my old hero2 1080p footage (gopro studio keeps crashing on me).
Thanks!
Edit: looks as tho' denoiser does use gpu, but on AE preview still getting around 1.5 fps if I'm lucky on 4k protune footage...may have to try nuke at this rate. That's using straight gopro h.264 files, will try with footage converted to gopro cineform preset (YUV 10-bit) in Media Encoder, hopefully that goes a bit faster...gopro studio refuses to work with me (do I need to turn off hyperthreading on a dual-cpu board? Shame they killed off cineform pro software....)..
Thanks!
