Hey. For the past few years I've been updating and making demo reels much like many of you. I have always made a dvd with a motion menu (to show off even more stuff I can do) and had different buttons for each work. i.e. If I had 4 things, you could choose which one you wanted. I would take whatever it was, whether it was from a documentary, short movie or whatever and basically make a trailer out of it while showing off my best work from it. I always thought that was a decent way of doing it until I started looking at reels on here. I've noticed a lot of the ones on here were a few minutes long with various random clips from many pieces of work put together. It got me thinking in redoing mine where it's just a bunch of great clips from various works with out titles.
I was wondering what all of your demo reels look like and how they're set up. I know a lot of it is a matter of preference but for the ones who have been in the business a while, I assume have a good sense of what people want to see when they look at reels.
Thanks.
