Demo Reel

First off, I would make it smaller. Took a while to download from your site.
You want quick and easy access I would think.

It could be cut a little tighter, I'm at fault here as well.

At the 37 second mark it almost looks like a mistake? We see his legs, a fade in of another person, then a quick cut. Then it seemed to just end at 1:25 for me and go green screen for about a minute?

How long is it supposed to be?

The opening Director graphic was very good!
I'll comment more once we figure out if I've seen it all or if there is a technical problem or something.

Also, shouldn't Director reels have dialogue?
I'm not really sure myself.

Hey Mike,

Yea, it muts be a glitch. I stopped the uploading on the server cause it didn't seem normal, taking way to long.

I'll check into that!

As for as dialog, I'm not really sure how a director reel goes, so I'll look around.

Thanks for looking.

You fixed the mistake after the leg shot and the rest looks quite good. Closed on my favourite shot as well. Nicely done.

I really like the opening and closing graphics as well. My only nitpick would be time. Maybe tighten it up a little.

Looking good.

the .mov extension alone will make most not click.
Use vimeo or something of the like.. or a quicker loading format.
was a slow doanload and then felt more like a DP's reel. I liked the shots but no no sense of your direction from any of it. You'll net to let some scenes play for a director's reel.
If it's a DP's reel, it could be shorter yet.

Looks spiffy :-D
(caveat: I'm no director nor cinematographer, so take my notes as you will)

-I too feel that the editing could be tighter. The beginning especially; you could probably lop a measure or two out of the intro of the song so you get to the drums and whatnot, which lend themselves to the cutting you're doing. It seems like you're stretching out the shots till you get to the start of the drums, and THEN you're showing your goods.

-In the beginning, it felt weird to see the shots of the same scene cut up with other shots - like the nice rack focus on the guy then to a clock and then back to the same guy. Same with the guy getting out of the car, dropping the vodka, and then he's back in the car (but it could just be me).

-Look for the shot of the guy in the car drinking the vodka (?) -blacks look meh & the shadows and mid tones look green - weird to see this with your other good shots.

other than that, I like it! (that last shot esp. with the eyes in the rearview).

Thanks everyone.

I would put DP, cause I shot all of that, but then again - I'm not really a DP (no lighting mostly) so could I put Camera Operator?

Thanks for looking guys,

Robbie
