anyone know where i can find some free music for a demo reel, anything between 1-2 minutes should be good. This is also the first demo reel I'm working on, are there any tips and things i need to include or stay away from? i know i should put my contact info at the end but other than that just random montage shots showing my skill?

I'm a bit surprised to be saying this because I'm a strong supporter of copyright, but reels seem to be one area where nobody is having an issue using whatever music they feel like. There are a lot of "royalty free" and "creative commons" music sites out there so you have a lot of options. But as I said even name editors often have commercial music on their reels. It surprised me and in a conversation that included producers, directors and a composer the consensus was "nobody cares on a reel". There basic point was a reel is usually a collection of clips that you don't own the rights to. From a strict copyright standpoint there is almost nothing anybody (who has actually worked on real projects) could put in their reel.
But I would go with your comfort zone.

Adam, you could use some of my music if it fits your reel.

just be sure to include my name in the credits and a link back to my site and I'm golden. And of course spread the luv once you've landed your multi million feature film. :)

Happy hunting!
